Soto “became upset” and went to the man’s house, broke in and set the living room couch ablaze – after she stole several items from the home, the Bexar Sheriff’s Office alleged in a news release.

The sheriff’s office said Soto was in a romantic relationship with a family member of the homeowner.

Video was taken of the house on fire and showed that she lit the couch and the fire spread, causing the home to go up in flames, police said.

Soto also reportedly texted her unidentified boyfriend while the house was on fire and said, “I hope your house is OK.”

The blaze caused more than $50,000 worth of damage, according to the sheriff’s office, who worked alongside the fire marshal’s office in the arson investigation.

Online records show she remains in custody on $165,000 bond. It wasn’t clear if she had retained an attorney who could speak on her behalf.

Soto faces charges of burglary habitation-force, a second degree felony, and first-degree arson, authorities said.
