The general manager of the San Francisco 49ers, John Lynch, has come down to the hot water.

The former Hall of Fame security apparently “liked” a Twitter post that despised starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, who played poorly in Thursday’s loss to the Tennessee Titans.

Lynch offered an explanation on Twitter, claiming that he accidentally and unknowingly “liked” the post while moving the app during a church service on Christmas night. He claimed that he still has faith in Garoppolo as the head coach of the team.

Garoppolo finished 26 of 35 assists for 322 yards, one shot and two interceptions in Thursday’s loss. San Francisco fell to 8-7 and lost its position in the NFC playoff race.

The 49ers will return to action Jan. 2 at home against the Houston Texans.
